The Miniature Show consists of 80 Australian and International artists. These artists exhibit side by side all working within the 6x6x6 Inch sculpture brief. The artists range from promising newcomers through to prominent sculptors. The idea of the Miniature Show was conceived by Director, Campbell Robertson-Swann in 1996. He needed to determine dimensions large enough to work within, to execute an idea on a small scale. These measurements needed to be smaller than a Marquette. He discussed with many practicing sculptors, How small can a sculpture be? What would be the ideal size for a miniature sculpture? The consensus was 6x6x6 inches. 15 years on the show has grown each and every year with more and more artists wanting to be part of this much loved exhibition. The show is a fixture on the sculpture calendar and anticipated by artists and collectors.Over the years artists have been able to explore and understand the process of making miniature sculpture. The time, energy and thought put into the works by so many artists continue to surprise and delight us every year.
The Miniature Show runs for 5 weeks and is held in October/November each year.
