The 2025 Defiance Award presents work from a selected twenty eight artists, with a prize designed to provide a prominent platform to connect artists to a wider audience.
Defiance is proud to support and profile exceptional Australian painters, ensuring artists are equipped to thrive and grow within their practice.
The Award recipient will receive the following:
- Solo Exhibition at Defiance Gallery
- 2 week residency at Giverny Artist Residency in Queenstown, New Zealand
(proudly sponsored by the Nock Art Foundation)
- Return flights to Queenstown from an Australian capital city
- $3,000 cash prize
We thank the Nock Art Foundation for supporting this year's Award and sponsoring the two-week arts residency in New Zealand.
