En Plein Air traces the ‘artistic pilgrimages’ of an ever-evolving group of contemporary Australian and New Zealand painters – currently consisting of Tim Allen, Rhett Brewer, Julia Griffin King, Michelle Hungerford, Chris Langlois, Euan Macleod, Ron McBurnie, Charmaine Pike and Bradley Short – with a mutual love for en plein air (outdoor) painting from the group’s inception in 2011/12 to the present day.
Across over 60 incredible works, follow the artistic development of this collective from their earliest trips in the alpine regions of NSW, through to more recent outings in the warmer climates of Central and Northern Queensland, as they discover newfound visual perspectives and colour palettes. Amongst the works presented are a wonderful series of landscapes of Mackay and the surrounding region.
