Susan Baird is an Australian artist known for her sensitive plein air paintings of Australian landscapes, especially of the area surrounding the historic mining town of Hill End in rural NSW where she has her studio.

 

She has been the recipient of several residencies and a finalist in numerous awards, including the Calleen Art Award (2024, 2023, 2021, 2019, 2018, 2017, 2016), Fishers Ghost Art Award (2023), Paddington Art Prize (2023, 2019, 2018, 2011, 2010, 2009), Mosman Art Prize (2016, 2015, 2010), Blake Art Prize (2011) and the NSW Parliament Plein Air Painting Prize (2016, 2010).

 

Her work is held in prominent public and private collections both here in Australia and Internationally, including Artbank and Bathurst Regional Art Gallery.
