Studio and Mountains 24 Oct - 14 Nov 2026 In Studio and Mountains , Peter Godwin returns to the intimate world of his studio, exploring the shifting presence of light and the quiet accumulation of objects, forms and images within it. These interiors are spaces of reflection and ongoing discovery, where the ordinary details of the artist’s surroundings become... Read more -

Polymorphae Incognita 24 Oct - 14 Nov 2026 In Polymorphae Incognita , the natural world is neither stable nor predictable. It is a force of perpetual invention, where forms emerge, mutate and reconfigure in an endless negotiation between order and disorder. These enigmatic sculptures, with their twisting limbs, improbable balances and strange, branching anatomies, appear caught mid-evolution; embodying... Read more

About the House 24 Sep - 17 Oct 2026 Finding somewhere I can paint has always been essential. My current studio is a garage underneath our home. It is separate enough to disappear into, but not separate enough to disappear completely. Everything can be heard and felt. Footsteps move across the ceiling. Muffled conversations, the television, someone running down... Read more -

Mangrove 24 Sep - 17 Oct 2026 Mangroves are environments in a constant state of flux. At low tide, large mudflats are exposed, dotted with the staccato marks of aerial roots. As the tide flows in, the animated and calligraphic lines of trunks and branches dance on the water surface. Light shifts across the intertidal landscape, transforming... Read more -

Transition 29 Aug - 19 Sep 2026 For more than four decades, Nigel Harrison has developed a distinctive sculptural practice grounded in a deep respect for the inherent qualities of materials. His practice began within the tradition of Japanese pottery, studying under ceramic master Mitsuo Shoji. This experience shaped an enduring understanding of material as a carrier... Read more -

Songs Between the Trees 29 Aug - 19 Sep 2026 We, in eastern Australia, wake each morning to some of the most extraordinary birdsong on the planet: the eponymous cackle of the laughing kookaburra; the cooee of the eastern whipbird; the pitch-perfect mimicry of the superb lyrebird. There is a reason why we say that to come across someone exceptional... Read more

Twenty Paintings for Trying Times 4 - 25 Jul 2026 The genesis of Tony Slater’s work comes directly from the second generation of British Pop school artists, 1960s London. In considering that broader context, Slater’s oeuvre begins to fall into place. His work originates from an international idiom that was upending the European modernist aesthetic, a framework which explains his... Read more -

The Aesthetics of Sound 4 - 25 Jul 2026 A childhood fascination with a crystal radio first revealed the invisible movement of sound through the air as waves. Years later, hearing improvised modern jazz on late-night radio transformed that curiosity into an enduring engagement with music as a way of understanding structure, rhythm and perception. Since then, listening has... Read more

Joe Furlonger
Into the Blue 6 - 27 Jun 2026 When Joe Furlonger was around eighteen, he recalls being on a commercial fishing ship, somewhere between Darwin and New Guinea—“about thirty Ks out, where I couldn’t see the land anymore.” It was “a spooky, little feeling,” says Furlonger—but one that settled into a sense of calm. Over fifty years later,... Read more -

Ocean 7 - 28 Mar 2026 Sailors and poets have made much of the power of the mistral, the nor’wester that blows from the south of France into the northern Mediterranean. Yet, when Paul Connor visited Provence some years ago, he felt the mistral was just “a strong sea breeze,” one that could not compare to... Read more -
Gathering
Group Exhibition 7 Mar - 2 Apr 2026 Gathering unfolds as a meditation on seasonal threshold—an exhibition attuned to the subtle shift from summer’s abundance to autumn’s inward turn. Anchored by the equinox, this moment of suspension marks neither arrival nor departure, but a poised interval in which opposing forces briefly coexist. Painting and sculpture dwell here in... Tough Ground | Deep Heart 25 Oct - 15 Nov 2025 Notes From the Artist The desert is a harsh and tough environment…but it endures, sometimes viewed as a vast emptiness with few signs of life. Notes to Oneself 27 Sep - 18 Oct 2025 Notes to Oneself presents a new series of interiors by Peter Godwin that are awash with the shifting, ephemerality of light. The Low Hum 30 Aug - 20 Sep 2025 It’s 8am and I’m sitting in the car on the driveway of our farm in rural Western Australia, talking on the phone to Julia Roche. North of Capricorn 30 Aug - 20 Sep 2025 Meagan Jacobs is a rarity. Rare in the subtlety of her colour and rare in her soulful and concrete commitment to landscape. Painting Place 3 - 24 May 2025 Perched high in the hills behind Bathurst, the old gold mining settlement of Hill End has become a kind of painter’s paradise that inspired a compelling chapter in the annals of Australian art.
